What is important in cooking?

I realise that cooking meals are challenging for many people who have a busy schedule but cooking food at home monitors all the nutrients going inside the meal but also avoids unwanted nutrients going into our meal. During this tough time, people all over the world are made to cook their meal, pretty rebellious ain’t eh?

A Balanced diet for a balnaced mind

For me, the food that I cook makes me feel confident about what I eat and makes me feel healthier.

Cooking a nutritious meal is much more challenging, when we don’t know exactly how much quantity of nutrients a particular food has got.

Eating food that is available at the market is an easier option where the calorie counts and other important disclaimers are mentioned which we need to know. But, having this information will not help us as much as we want. Knowing that junk food contains sufficient amount of calories that we need for today’s meal is not a good idea because junk food will start to weaken your immune system and weaken all body organs eventually.

Eating healthy should be a practice not a proverb!

Having one or two cheeseburgers or hot dogs available in the market or at your favorite junk food restaurant can be considered safe but it’s not safe in the longer run, we cannot overlook the factor that it also depends on your metabolisms. Having a few can also make your system go or act badly if you have a weaker immune system.

During the time of this pandemic although consuming a particular kind of food will make you less affected by the disease has not been proven yet, but having a healthy balanced nutritious diet will help you all to build a great immune system and it is proven that and the good immune system is the biggest weapon against the COVID-19.

I wrote to a few of my friends who are medicine practitioners (not nutritionists) and tried to learn a few things from them. It is NOT recommended for normal people to visit hospitals or see doctors at this point with the disease going all around. One of my friends mentioned that to be healthy and lose weight high proteins are required. And also recommended that during this time three meals are quite necessary for having a proper immune system combining this with the proper exercise will increase your immune system and there you go, you get more ready for the challenges.

How a nutritious meal looks?

Well, it looks no different from our regular meal 🙂

For everyone wondering how nutritious food looks like, nutritious food is nothing but a balance of all the nutrients which your body requires in regards to your height weight and age group. I know it gets pretty daunting to think it this way.

It would be not correct on my part to ask you to go shop during this time. We all have stocked up for at least 2 weeks and we know what we are going to have for the next 2 weeks all we need to do is adjust the quantities.

Now comes the big question, HOW??

A Nutrition Calculator

For the past couple of days, I was working on a calculator, which calculates the nutrition of your food and give you a proper calorie count along with other nutrients to maintain a by balanced diet 🙂

I am not a nutritionist, so I would not recommend you to heavily realign on the data I have provided but I’m just going to give you a rough idea of whatever you are eating every day and its contribution to your diet through this nutrition calculator.

This calculator will help you to know the right amount of nutrients that are going to your body through your meal which you are cooking every day at home.

All you need to do is input is your height weight and age group. I have tried to make the calculator as simple as I could by giving you drop-down menus of your daily consumed items.
