When I was in the US. Where I saw people of different races & ethnicity. although a lot of things happening in the US right now, my heart goes off for the current situation, I was still fortunate enough to not encounter the unpleasant part of America.
I saw many people are ok with immigrants coming to the country and receding and some immigrants even getting the permanent residency.
I saw people being happy about the way they look and appreciative of themselves no- matter what body type and body-color they have, unlike in India where a person’s beauty is appreciated more than their values and the skill set, they possess.
The idea of beauty is being shifted from time to time. what used to be considered as beautiful no longer holds true. for example, if we consider the 1980s-1990s we see ads of fair, slim, and tall models are considered beautiful and mostly they are used to showcase the product and persuade people to buy the product, which is wrong to various degrees.
Being fair is always rewarded in India. The good appearance had made many people’s life easy compared to those with the darker sink tone and obese body. I have heard of racial discrimination around the world, but I have witnessed Indians discriminate against Indians based on skin color & appearance.
As a child always wondered that does the products which people are selling are actually going to changes lives by making them look fairer?? As a child, I was OK with how others looked and with the color of their skin unless I was told that it was not OK, which is heartbreaking and sad on others part who taught color shame to a child.
It’s very hard for many of us to accept the way we look. My question to them is why? why is it difficult to accept yourself? what matters the most is not your color of the body structure but your health and your contributions to society.
The classification of being beautiful is constantly expanding there and there is a lot of room for women of color, women of obesity, and women who are bald or have grey hair. popular magazines such as Vogue and ELLE are finding new talents across the world without discriminations.
If we follow the runways which are happening in Paris, we see there are different kinds of women where everybody is so beautiful in their own ways which are being appreciated by the entire world.
It’s highly incorrect for the world especially India to Attach a woman’s beauty to her husband’s potential and ambitions every woman is an identity of her own. I cannot stress this enough that woman is no less than a man in any situation, then why waste time in thinking how you look?
Every woman is beautiful as long as you have a good heart and healthy body <3.
