Scrambled cottage cheese famously known as Paneer burjee in India is what I am going to speak today.
As it is life is too hard for vegetarians, All of my life I have been a vegetarian which was not by choice 😅😛.
Switching for non-vegetarianism is nearly impossible for me I cannot have meat because of various reasons one of them being religion (I follow Hinduism and according to the traditions of Hinduism we are not allowed to have the meat of any kind, although there are some exceptions). Finding a healthy diet is really difficult if you are a vegetarian.
My husband recently purchased a smart weighing scale called Dr. Trust which connects to your phone. It will calculate not just the weight, it calculates BMI, BFR, mussel weight, body water, bone mass, BMR, metabolic age, visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, protein mass, etc.
When I started using it I realize that how unhealthy I am and how my body mass index is totally out of the place which is when I decided to go on a healthy diet and eat healthy food. I started consuming healthy things and now I have lost 4 pounds in two weeks I haven’t cut down on my sugar consumption, I still have my morning coffee with one teaspoon of brown sugar in it but I stopped eating all kinds of deserts. I eat flax and almond seed bread and quinoa for my lunch along with some salads.
Cottage cheese is one of the most nutritious dishes I have found online where it is mostly composed of protein, carbohydrates, and good fats.
It is usually misunderstood that since it’s a milk product it is termed as unhealthy. Well to our surprise it’s not it is one of the alternatives to meat in a keto diet.
Nutrition value of the one (approx.: 200g) serving of cottage cheese is as follows
Energy: 320 Cal
Protein: 10 g
carbohydrates: 10.9 g
Fiber: 0.9 g
Fat: 31.7 g
Cholesterol: 0 g
Per day a person is required to consume 1200-1500 calories and scrambled cottage cheese constitutes for around 13-15% of the total diet requirement. It makes a perfect breakfast or lunch if we pair it along with some salad/ multigrain bread.
Cottage cheese is high on protein and also calcium which helps in weight loss, anything which is high in protein gets digested very slowly which in turn makes you feel full all day.
Finally, I would like to share my way of doing scrambled cottage cheese. 🙂
I take,
- 200g of cottage cheese.
- Butter as required
- 2 tablespoon almond milk
- Salt for seasoning
- Pepper for seasoning
Yes, you guessed it right 🙂
I make it just the way we make scrambled eggs 🙂 Trust me it will taste amazing!
Sorry I am unable to share pictures right now as I didn’t happen to click it while I was making one.
Do give a try and let me know how did you like it 🙂
